On campus Accommodation University of Nottingham Malaysia

Hello~ It's me.

Betcha know what I'm gonna write about today (duh, obviously). Yes, just as the title suggested I'm gonna talk about the on-campus accommodation here in UNMC. To be specific, the on-campus accommodation that I've stayed in before. UNMC offers a wide range of options to choose from when it comes to their on-campus accommodation.

Rooms & rates (inclusive of utilities and internet connection)
** Only A/C is not included in the rental fees. At the end of the month the accommodation office will send the student an invoice of the A/C charges according to their usage.

So far, those highlighted in yellow are the rooms that I used to stayed in before. The one highlighted in green is the current one I'm staying right now. Without further ado, let's have a look at how these 3 rooms looked like.

Single, with shared-bathroom in 5-room flat with A/C

For this room type, it is usually situated at the end of every wing; Left, middle and right wing.

Yup that's it for the 5-bedroom flat. It may seem small at first but the size is actually just right (in my pov). It depends on how you organise and keep your stuffs really. If you have too many stuffs and you don't know how to organise or keep them, I'm tellin' you, your room's gonna look very packed. It wouldn't be comfortable when your room's packed with stuffs and disorganised. Like I said, the room isn't that big to begin with so I suggest for those (locals and overseas) whose planning on staying in the on-campus accommodation, do bring only the necessities. Other stuffs like body wash, shampoo, kettle, mug, bowl..etc you can buy it here in Semenyih, there's no need to bring it all the way here from home. When I first came here from Brunei, I only brought my clothes, laptop, chargers, stationeries, 2 handbags, 1 backpack, a table tennis racquet, some dry foods and 3 sets of bedsheets and blankets. Other things that I need I'll just go to the Tesco in Semenyih to buy it. Worry not if you do not have a car because the University provides buses to go there.

Ok, now let's move on to the Deluxe single with ensuite bathroom with A/C

Comparing to the other room types that's being offered by UNMC, this is the fanciest one you can get. You even get to have your own mini fridge! So nice :(

Deluxe single room

While as for the other room types, they have fridge too but it won't be in your room.In every wing of the accommodation hall, there will be a pantry and inside the pantry there's the fridge.So..you'll have to share it with the people who's living in your hall.  I know what you're thinking, "sharing? whatchu mean sharing? wouldn't my stuff be stolen by other people?" ISN'T IT? I mean like, of course, there's no guarantee that your food will still be there after the next day if you store your food in a shared fridge.

In my experience, I've only gotten my yakult twin pack stolen once during my very first year in UNMC. I still remember it was a very hot day and I'm just like you know what I need something cold to drink. So I went to the pantry, opened the fridge and it's gone. IT'S GONE
I mean, I have a freakin' twin pack, they could've just take one pack and leave another one for me but no...

THEY GREEDY

But no worries people, it's only that one time. So it isn't that bad LOL. Probably that person who took the whole of my yakult was having really bad digestive problems I guess. Who knows.

Ok, back to the accommodation. Here's a video that I took when I first moved in to this room. Just ignore the caption I put there, I downloaded the video from my snapchat.

This room is definitely more spacious and nicer in terms of the design and all. But I wouldn't choose to stay in this room though for a couple of reasons:-

1. I'll have to climb up a slope everyday to class and by the time I arrive class, I'll be sweaty as heck.
2. It's very far from the sports complex.
3. It's expensive to me.

I only got the chance to stay in this room and experience how it's like living there was because of the Tri-Campus Games. Speaking about Tri-Campus Games, maybe I should blog about the Tri-Campus Games for the next entry.

Now, let's talk about my current room. As I mentioned earlier in this blogpost, I'm currently staying in single room with ensuite bathroom with A/C. Personally, I think there's not much differences with this current room that I'm staying compared to the 5-room flat that I previously stayed. It looks the same except that this current one that I'm staying is a bit more spacious and that I have my own toilet.

And yeah.. that's about it! For more information about the on-campus accommodation please click HERE and for the floor plans of the rooms, click HERE. I hope all these informations are helpful to those incoming students and I'd like to take this chance to welcome those who're planning on to further their studies here.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE PEEPS!

  1. This accommodation is good for the student in the long run. But for businesses, I think it is better to search on existing and popular online platforms like airbnb and egettinz for Malaysia accommodation.
